How are KeMUDA Scholarships Awarded?

Standard KeMUDA Scholarships are awarded by the Scholarship Committee of Kenya Methodist University.  KeMUDA and the Executive  Directors, Tom Albright, do not make decisions on who to fund.

There area two other types of support to students in which KeMUDA participates more directly.

Sponsored Scholarships happen when a funder comes to KeMUDA and asks for a particular type of student, for instance, a nursing student.  KeMUDA then contacts Kenya Methodist University which designates a recipient for that scholarship.  KeMUDA then works to keep the donor and the students in contact, to track the students academic progress, and to establish a relationship between the donor and the students.  (Alex and Dayton, pictured at the right, are recipients of scholarships sponsored by the Board of Higher Eduction and Ministry of the United Methodist Church.)

Sponsored Students are students who have sponsors in the US or Canada who wish to use KeMUDA to transfer funds to KeMU into the student's account.  Dr. Albright will provide contacts between the student, the school and the sponsor to ensure that the sponsorship happens responsibly.
